Finland – the winter wonderland?

Times have changed and even Finland cannot guarantee snow for Christmas anymore. Growing up I can hardly remember not being able to build snow castles and snowmen, not to mention ice skating on a lake and sliding down the almost non-existent hills of my old hometown. Times have changed, and it’s not the lack of snow which makes me sad. This is only one of those signs showing we humans have gone too far, and I wish more of the New Year’s promises would lead to positive change concerning not only us, but also our planet. The south of Finland is still beautiful with its starry sky and the north will keep offering snow to those who won’t give up on their search (at least for now).
